Terms of Service

You must be at least 18 to create an account and buy an invitation. Guests of any age may reply to an invitation, and a parent or guardian may reply for children in their party.

You sign in with a one-time link sent to your email address. Keep access to that inbox secure, because anyone who can open the link can act on your account. Partners you add to an invitation can edit it and see its replies, and you are responsible for whom you add.

Creating and previewing an invitation is free. To publish it and share a live link you buy that invitation with a single one-time payment. There is no subscription and nothing renews.

A published invitation includes the design you chose, guest RSVPs, and the schedule, story and gallery, registry, guestbook, music and reminder features available for it at the time. We improve designs and features over time and may change how they work, but we will not remove a core feature you paid for from a published invitation during its hosting period.

The price is shown before you pay and is charged in US dollars, pounds sterling, Canadian dollars or Australian dollars. Payment is processed by Stripe, and Stripe’s terms apply to the payment itself. Any taxes that apply are shown at checkout.

Your invitation is published once the payment is confirmed. If the payment is later reversed, we may unpublish the invitation.

A Belowen invitation is digital content supplied as soon as it is published. By publishing, you ask us to supply it immediately and acknowledge that, where the law allows, you lose the right to cancel once it has been supplied.

If your invitation cannot be published, or does not work as described, because of a fault on our side, contact us at [email protected]. We will fix the problem or, if we cannot, refund your payment.

Nothing in these terms limits rights you have under consumer law where you live, including the Australian Consumer Law, the UK Consumer Rights Act 2015 and Canadian provincial consumer protection laws.

A published invitation stays online, with its photos and replies, until 18 months after the wedding date you entered. After that we may take the invitation offline and delete its photos and guest information. Changing the wedding date to extend this period beyond your real date is not permitted.

You keep ownership of everything you add to an invitation, including text, photos and your wedding logo. You give us a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to host, store, resize, display and transmit that content for the purpose of running your invitation and providing the service. This licence ends when the content is deleted.

You confirm that you have the rights to the content you add, including permission from people who appear in your photos, and that it does not break the law or anyone else’s rights.

Replies from your guests are collected for you. You agree to use them only to plan and host your wedding, to keep them confidential, and to delete or correct a guest’s information when they reasonably ask. You are responsible for having a lawful reason to share guests’ names and contact details with us, for example when you add them to your invitation content.

You agree not to use Belowen to:

• Publish anything unlawful, hateful, harassing, sexually explicit or deceptive.
• Send spam or use an invitation for anything other than a real celebration.
• Collect payments or sensitive information from guests through invitation text, links or RSVP questions.
• Upload malware, probe or overload the service, bypass access codes or rate limits, or access another person’s invitation or replies without permission.
• Copy, resell or extract the invitation designs for use outside Belowen.

The invitation designs, artwork, typography arrangements, software and Belowen brand belong to Orbyne Studio or its licensors. Buying an invitation gives you a personal licence to use your chosen design for your wedding on Belowen. It does not transfer ownership of the design or allow you to reuse it elsewhere.

Some features depend on services we do not control, including Stripe for payments and Spotify for the music player. Links to registries, venues or other websites you add to an invitation are your responsibility. Their own terms apply when you use them.

We work to keep Belowen and every published invitation available and to fix problems quickly. We cannot promise uninterrupted service, and we may carry out maintenance that briefly takes the service offline. Email delivery depends on your guests’ email providers, so we cannot guarantee that every message arrives.

You can stop using Belowen at any time and ask us to delete your account by emailing [email protected].

We may suspend or remove an invitation or account that breaks these terms or puts guests or the service at risk. Where we reasonably can, we will tell you first and give you a chance to fix the problem. If we remove a paid invitation without a breach on your part, we will refund you.

We are responsible for loss you suffer that is a foreseeable result of our breaking these terms or failing to use reasonable care. We are not responsible for loss that was not foreseeable, for business losses, or for problems caused by events outside our reasonable control.

Except where the law does not allow it, our total liability to you for any invitation is limited to the amount you paid for it. We do not exclude or limit liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud, or for anything else that cannot be limited by law.

The service is provided as described in these terms. To the extent the law allows, we make no other promises about it.

If something goes wrong, please contact us first so we can try to put it right. These terms are governed by the law of the country, and where relevant the state, province or territory, in which you live, and you may bring a claim in your local courts.

We may update these terms as the service changes. We will revise the date at the top, and email account holders about changes that materially affect them before they take effect. Changes never reduce what you already paid for during the hosting period of a published invitation.
